Privacy notice
Memoir privacy policy
Last reviewed: 27 July 2026
This notice explains the boundary between Memoir's public information site, the private diary application, and services you may choose to connect. It does not change the separate terms or privacy practices of your browser, device platform, Google, or another destination you visit.
Public information site
The public information site does not receive diary entries, entry titles, photos, encryption material, recovery keys, or Google OAuth tokens.
The site is delivered through ordinary web infrastructure. That infrastructure may process technical request information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as an IP address, timestamp, requested path, response status, user agent, and security events. The current public artifact includes no account form, advertising tracker, behavioral analytics SDK, or diary-content upload.
Private diary application
Diary entries and related private content are handled by the separate Memoir application. Core diary data uses a local SQLite database. The public site cannot read that database, browser storage belonging to the app origin, encryption material, recovery material, or cloud tokens.
Optional Google Drive connection
Google Drive sync stores supported encrypted diary data in the connected user's own Drive rather than Memoir-operated diary storage.
Connecting Google Drive is optional. The authorization and Drive requests involve Google, whose own terms and privacy practices apply. Google controls account access, service availability, and quota. Revoking access does not guarantee deletion of data already stored in the account; manage stored files and connected-app access through the relevant Google controls.
Encryption and recovery material
Supported cloud-sync payloads are encrypted before upload. This does not mean the local SQLite database is SQLCipher-encrypted. Memoir does not ask you to enter a password or recovery key on this public site and cannot recreate both if they are lost.
Voice and import features
Voice transcription and diary imports happen inside the private app, not on this page. The current voice feature permits only verified local transcription and otherwise offers manual writing. Import files should be retained until you have reviewed and verified the result.
Measurement and future changes
No behavioral analytics or advertising tracker is included in the current public artifact. A future measurement change must remain outside the private diary, collect only approved public-site events, update this notice when appropriate, and pass the project's privacy review before release.
